Charlie Parr Rescheduled for Feb 21st

Bright news on this dull gray morning is that we have rescheduled the utterly amazing Charlie Parr for the 21st of Feb at The Lexington

The show was due to be next week on The Tamesis Dock but Charlie had to cancel his tour due to hurting his arm and not being able to play guitar.

Charlie is one of the finest guitar players and songwriters around and it’s going to be a massive pleasure to have him down.

Seem like a lot of people were coming down to the show last time so sure we will have a great one in Feb too.

GDLI Looking for help

Alright Tumblr folks.

I’m looking for someone who is looking to get some experience working in a music company to come and work with me one or two days a week. Mainly helping on show promo but will also be some work with press, label and most aspects of stuff really.

If you or someone you know might be interested please drop me a line at anthony@goddontlikeit.com

New show! Devilman at The Nest

I’m super happy to announce one of my favorite bands are playing in London at a GDLI show.

It’s the incredible duo of DJ Scotch Egg and Gorgonn otherwise known as Devilman.

They have played a couple of times before for me but they are really starting to come into there own now and were indistputebly one of the best bands at Supersonic Festival.

It’s at The Nest on the 9th of Febuary. It’s a got a hardcore club soundsystem in there so is perfect for them.

I went to Maida Vale studios in London today to record a live session for Huw Stephens.  I performed a couple of songs from Tourist as well as a couple of even newer tracks.

Becoming Real was also recording a session, which sounded awesome, it’s always great to see Toby.  Afterwards we both met Huw (what a lovely bloke), and did a little interview each.

The whole lot should be on Radio 1 next wednesday, and iPlayer after that.

Exciting!

Nothing to do with me but this tour is going to be SWEET, looking forward to Corsica Studios gig tons.

My record label endeavors with robotelephant are taking over my lounge room..

These are the times to question sanity… we just hulked 43 boxes with over 1100 12” vinyl records - an antiquated medium to store music on - in the Robot Elephant Records office (uhm.. living room).

And it all looks and sounds great!

robotelephant:

This Friday - November 5th - we will be celebrating the launch of Stearica Invade Acid Mothers Temple - which is the first LP released on Robot Elephant Records (in collaboration with Homeopathic Records). It’s all happening in the premises of the sparkling new and amazing Bardens Cafe - check out the pictures above, doesn’t it look like THE place to hang out in the future? It’s located at 36 Stoke Newington Road, London, N16 7XJ, so basically same site as the old Bardens Boudoir, but on ground level. Entry is free.

None of the bands are around at the moment unfortunately, however we aim to rectify that soon. We still fully intend to have an amazing time, as it’s also the first night of the God Don’t Like It monthly residency there. Ourselves - Anthony and Sebastian aka. Elektritter will be playing records - this time to fit the theme, we will be playing our finest Space and Psych Rock tunes from Stearica / Acid Mothers Temple likeminded bands such as Bo Ningen, Teeth of the Sea, Sun Araw, and more! (However we are not trying to scare away too many punters and will be playing more regular music as well).

You will be able to buy our records over there including the new ones (saying that in plural by purpose because we got a little surprise thing..).

They have been one of my favorite bands for a couple of years now and their debut album Harum Scarum was in my top 5 albums of the year in 2009.

Also on the bill is Elijah at Sea with another act and DJ’s to be confirmed soon.
