“You can fish around for reference points - Incredible String Band, Lal Waterson, Kate Bush, Melanie and Anne Briggs all might qualify - but this is wondrously individual ” - Mojo ****
“songs, which recline with shimmering sensuality in various shady cloaks of weirdness…fragility, desolation and humour…scurrying around Dartmoor under cover of darkness.” - The Telegraph
On October 16th God Don’t Like It is teaming up with London’s top promoter of folk music The Magpies Nest for the launch of Mary Hampton’s 2nd album Folly at Cecil Sharp House in Camden.
She has been a regular at GDLI shows and has been going from strength to strength recently with her last single being released on Rough Trade.
The show is with her band under the name Mary Hampton Cotillion.
There are some pretty special supports for the night but don’t have them 100% firmed up just yet so can’t announce them but I tell ye they are going to be great.
Tickets are £8 & doors are at 8:00.
